Did you know that laughter is one of the best medicines that we can give to ourselves? 

Laughter has actually become a therapy, with what is called "Laughter Yoga" where people go to laugh in order to give their bodies those feel good hormones that are also beneficial to health.  It has been scientifically researched and proven that laughter is a preventative medicine.  Just as stress can put out damaging hormones such as an overload of adrenaline into the body, thus damaging organs and shortening life span - not to mention causing more wrinkles to appear; laughter does the opposite.  It causes the body to produce serotonin and dopomine, neurochemicals that cause the brain to feel happy and think positive thoughts and endorphins which are the body's natural pain killers.

Laughter strengthens the immune system making us more resilient to warding off illness. Laughter is reported to cure hypertension, heart disease, asthma, insomnia and numerous other stress related illnesses, which is not surprising as laughter is the best way to cure stress and accompanying illnesses associated with hypertension.

Think about how difficult it is to be angry or stay annoyed with a situation or person when you are laughing. Anger, impatience, annoyance and irritability are all signs of an unhappy person.  When someone is told to "Lighten up" it is because laughter is light, we cannot house hostile or negative emotions when we are feeling full of light and laughter.

Our retreats aim to bring much light and laughter to the world, in a world that is full of stressed-out women with accompanying symptoms and illnesses.

We know that today's women multi-task and have little time to spend on themselves. We know that there are many negative events out there in the world. We know that you probably have a number of stressors in your life that cause irritability, negativity and depression.

But we also know that getting stressed, angry and depressed does not actually help situations - in fact it makes it worse because our brains and bodies stop functioning to their optimum levels and we are more likely to get ill.

And that is why our aim is to bring as much light and laughter to you whilst you are staying at our retreats.  We aim to help you experience as much fun, adventure and humour as is humanly possible.  We aim to share this laughter as we watch you relax and enjoy your time with us and we aim to see you leaving here lighter in every way.
